If you are a professional photographer and live in the New England area (must live in RI, MA, CT, NH, VT or ME), then please check out my blog.  Some of you may or may not have heard of Roadside Families?  This is the New England version of it.  As photographers, we are always behind the camera.  Let’s Pay It Forward and be in front of it for a change.  This organization (both RF and mine below are COMPLETELY free).  Yes, no catch….hence, the PIF. =)

More info will be added to the blog if I get enough photographers interested in it.  Please feel free to leave a comment here but if you want to be a part of this and meet the requirements listed on the blog, please leave a comment there. The link is also under “Blogroll” on the right side of this site.

If you’re not familiar with my Interpretations posts, please refer to my previous ones to catch up. lol  Here are some new entries that I’ve done:

Still Life – Salt & Pepper

The subject was “Halloween Movie”, where we got to choose any Halloween movie and portrayed it however we would like.  Since I love the Ring for scary movies,  I tried to do a SP to copycat Samara from The Ring.

The original from the movie (taken from http://api.ning.com/files/Wtl8r9zmKPJrkq74dC9WVJ3L3loFWGNwd2yZyq1fYtY_/TheRing_Samara.jpg):

This past weekend, my family & I went to New Jersey for one of my husband’s friend’s wedding.  I’ll post images from their wedding soon but it was an interesting scenario.  I was the photographer, hubby was the best man and our oldest son (who’s 4 1/2) was the ring bearer…and of course, we had our 2 yr old son with us as well.  VERY interesting. LOL

Anyways, we also brought along our husky but I have a friend (who’s also a photographer) who offered to doggie sit for us.  We chat all the time online and by phone but this past weekend, was the first time we actually met.  It was awesome to finally meet her and her family!  If you would like to check out Mirka’s website, it’s www.mirkaphotographics.com) I have yet to upload my photos from the trip, so the photo of the 2 of us, her husband took and Mirka took the rest.

And saving the best for last…she took this portrait of our youngest son, which I absolutely love!

Well, it’s definitely different to be the one in front of the camera…rather than behind it. LOL  But for a photography group that I’m a part of, we had a Self-Portrait challenge (moreso just to have fun and get in front of the camera for once).  This is actually one of the first photos of me since I cut my hair.  I recently chopped just over 10 inches and donated to Locks Of Love.  I haven’t had my hair this short since I was very little, so it’s definitely a big change but I like it.

Anyways, thought I would post it for everyone to see (and no, I’m not 22…that was just on the texture that I used. haha):

I was going through my files and remembering all that has happened this past year and realized I forgot to write about this.  There was a Rhode Island photography contest that was held back in the middle of the year and it was open to all RI photographers of every level (beginners, amateurs, professional).  This is one of my favorite infant portraits and I had titled it “Hanging Around”, as this little girl was just hanging out on her Daddy’s arm.  This photo is also very dear to my heart because she happens to be my niece…for my parents, she is the very first girl out of a total of 7 grandkids. =)

This photo placed both “First Place” and “Best of Show”:

So a friend of mine asked me to take some family photos for her a couple of weeks ago.  I have to say that I’ve never photographed another photographer before and it definitely felt….different. LOL  Not in a bad way, of course.  =)  We had so much fun!

It was freezing out and even started to snow a little but luckily it stopped.  But Christina  was awesome to photograph and I’m glad we finally got to hang out a bit (especially since our last playdate with our little ones we couldn’t chat much since the kids were running in opposite directions! LOL).  But when the weather is nice (and warmer!), I’d love to photograph her family again so we can spend more time on the session and in exchange, she’s going to photograph my family as well.  I cannot wait!

But here are some of my faves from the session:
