As many of you know, the last 9 months have been…eventful, to say the least.  Back in February, we found out that we were expecting our 3rd child and we all were completely ecstatic!  I don’t know who was more excited, us as parents or the boys to have a sibling soon.

Here’s a quick recap of the last 9 months:  Approximately 6 wks into the pregnancy, I started to miscarry.  It’s something a woman never hopes to experience but always has that fear that it may happen.  I was devastated on the inside but tried so hard to be hopeful and positive on the outside.  They say things always happen for a reason and while I know that’s true, I hate those clichés.  It was at my follow-up ultrasound appointment at my OB’s office (you know, the one that makes sure everything is cleared out and they can tell you when you can start trying again), that I found out that there was a heartbeat.  I had just come to terms that there was no baby so you can imagine the shock when the little peanut survived.  So while I did miscarry, they said it may have been a twin.  Thinking back on it, it’s sad to think that maybe there could have been another blessing with Tyler but we are so blessed and so thankful that he survived.

Now, at the 18 wk ultrasound, we had another scare.  There were a few “red flags” that pointed towards him having Downs Syndrome.  But luckily, we decided to have an amniocentesis done and weeks later, it was confirmed that he was healthy.  After what we dealt with for the first half of the pregnancy, you can imagine our relief when we heard that!  Obviously, we would have loved him no matter what but to know that he was healthy and wouldn’t have that challenge to face was comforting.  The only thing that lil’ Tyler will face and conquer is clubbed feet (which, for those of you who aren’t familiar with, is the feet are turned in…or out in some cases) and will have to have casting and possibly a brace after that.  If that’s his only challenge in life…all I have to say is “Bring It On”.  We’ll take it.  And I have to say, his feet actually aren’t as bad as the ultrasound tech thought.  And it may sound bad, but I adore his feet.  I kiss them every chance I get. 🙂

So….the due date was supposed to be October 24th and while I was late with our first two sons, I wasn’t expecting any differently…although I did hope every day that I would go early.  Another prayer was answered on October 7th.  😉  I arrived at Women & Infants at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon and Tyler Jack was welcomed into the world at 5:11pm.  He weighed 6 lbs and was 19 inches long.  He was absolutely perfect.

It’s absolutely amazing how one baby can change your life, for the better…if that’s even possible.  I could not imagine our lives now without lil’ Tyler.  Justin and Zachary have been wonderful and such loving big brothers.  They are the proudest I have ever seen.  While I cannot wait to see Tyler run around and play with his older brothers when he gets bigger, I want him to stay this size for as long as possible.  The long hours during the night, all the feedings and crying, are so worth it and you cherish it even more when you see how quickly they grow.

It’s hard not to hold Tyler all day long, to watch him sleep and to look at him, telling him stories when he’s awake and he just looks back at you with wide, wondering eyes.  It completely melts my heart and makes me realize how much I love my three boys more and more every day.

Tyler Jack, welcome to the world.  You truly are a fighter.

You are:

A Miracle of Life.

A Miracle of Love. .

The Miracle of You.

We love you!

AND of course, one of all three boys.  Future partners in crime and 3 Muskateers! 😉

It’s BABY FEVER!  I swear, I’ve photographed more maternity sessions this past month than I have all year long and I am loving it!  This beautiful Momma-to-be is due on Oct 16th and what they are having…is a surprise!  I cannot wait to find out if they have a boy or girl!  When I met Melissa and Cliff, it was great to hear that she wanted to be a little more artistic as she has a great interest of photography and was just soaking it all in (Melissa, I was serious when I said I’d be happy to help you learn your DSLR camera). 😉

It’s a small world, as we found out that one of Justin’s classmates from last year (now they are in different class but still same grade, obviously), is the nephew of Melissa.  We adore her nephew and Justin speaks very highly of him! 🙂

Melissa & Cliff were great sports, letting me try a few new ideas, lighting techniques, having them up & down on the floor, etc etc.  So THANK YOU for putting up with my craziness. 🙂  Here are a few of my favorites from your session.  Enjoy!

Today, I met the most adorable lil’ man…his name is Micah.  I had the honor of photographing Colleen & Chris’s wedding back in 2007 (my gosh, does time fly!!) and I have to say, their wedding I’ll never forget.  Colleen had the most AMAZING red….yes, I said RED (as in completely red bridal gown with crystals all over it).  Talk about breath-taking!

Anyways, onto the lil’ guy….I got such a kick outta Micah.  He slept almost the entire time but as much as I tried to “mold” him into some great positions, he wanted NO part of it. lol  But he was very cooperative…sleepy and he LOVED being on his side.  It was wonderful to see Colleen & Chris again.  Parenthood looks great on them! 😉

Here’s a sneak peek for you, Colleen & Chris!  Enjoy!

I met a fabulous family at today’s session….I swear, us photogs have the best job in the world! Meet Sharon, Kevin and their lil’ man, Jack (how I love that name…).

Jack was happy as could be, although at times, he did look at me like he was thinking “Who is this crazy lady??” 😉 haha I seriously could not get enough of lil’ Jack as he was a joy to photograph and I loved hearing the “stories” he was trying to tell. We even got lucky and got some quick sleeping photos at the end of the session.

Sharon, here are a few photos of your session for your friends and family. Enjoy!!

I think today is a record for all the blogging & posts. 😉  Phew!

So…here is Ariane, Mike & their lil’ man, Jacob.  I had the pleasure of photographing Ariane & Mike’s wedding back in 2008 (seen here: https://teresasweetphotography.wordpress.com/2008/08/28/ariane-mikes-wedding/)  and then their maternity photos just last month (seen here: https://teresasweetphotography.wordpress.com/2010/04/25/arianes-maternity-session/)

There is nothing better as a photographer than to capture these amazing, once in a lifetime moments, for a couple!  Ariane & Mike have been so wonderful, so easy-going for what I wanted to do with creativity for all of their sessions.  They are an amazing family to work with!  So of course, when lil’ Jacob was born, I HAD to get some portraits of him before he was more than 2 wks old.  And we did just that.

Jacob was such a good sport last night with his photos.  In the beginning, he let me lay him any way I wanted and he was happy as could be!  I can’t believe he stayed awake for most of the session too!  It was hard to choose favorites but of course, a few always jump out at me.  Here are a few of my faves:

This is a family that I hold dear to my heart.  Erin & I have known each other for almost 2 yrs now.  I was originally hired to photograph her wedding but fate had it that Mike had to relocate in the service quickly, so they eloped.  The next time they returned back home in Rhode Island, we had an amazing time doing a Trash the Dress session (that can be viewed here: https://teresasweetphotography.wordpress.com/2008/10/24/erin-mikes-trash-the-dress-session/)

Ever since Erin announced she was pregnant, I was elated to here that she wanted family portraits done once they came back to RI after Celia was born.  Lil’ Celia is now almost 3 months.  We’ve kept a great relationship since the TTD session and I feel we’ve gotten to know each other pretty well and this couple truly is special to me.  I really had a hard time choosing some of my favorites from the session but these are the ones that stood out to me:

Every day, my life is consumed by my two greatest passions:  Family and Photography.  I truly believe that I have the best job in the world.  Being a mother, allows me to view the world differently.  You learn to cherish those small moments in a child’s life that are so EXCITING to experience, yet it gives me the greatest feeling to be able to capture those moments for myself and for the families around me.

Being a wife, reminds me of all the details you have to think of to plan a wedding.  All those emotions and how the smallest moments can make a difference on one of the most important days of your life.  Being able to be a part of your day, capturing those moments that you may not even realize are happening…is what my love for photography is all about.  A playful moment like the flowergirl playing Tag-You’re-It!, the bride and groom sharing a secret look, to the tear that may run down the cheek of the couples’ parents.  THOSE are the moments that you will look back on for the rest of your life and smile to yourself because you will be able to relive that loving feeling you felt on that exact day.

Photography is a passion of mine.  Pieces of art that I cannot wait to pass on to you.  🙂

Once again, I had the pleasure of photographing some fabulous and DELICIOUS goodies from Ginny’s Tarts & Treats (located in Rhode Island, but available in other surrounding states as well). Accompanying her were her father, Dave, and husband Stephen..who also help with the business. It was great to meet them again and we had a lot of fun!

Ginny’s Tarts and Treats provides a variety of goodies for any occasion and they truly make beautiful gifts for your loved ones.  These are only a few samples of the occasions that you can buy for but really….why wait for a holiday or a special occasion to let that loved one know how special they are to you?  Surprise them with something SWEET and you’ll truly make their day!   😉

Here are a few samples of what she offers. For more information, please visit http://www.tartsandtreats.com :

A dear friend (and also a fellow photographer, owner of Something Beautiful Photography in RI), Christina, came over tonight with her husband, Justin..and their beautiful 3 yr old daughter, Cora. Christina is almost 32 weeks and will be having a boy! 🙂 It was definitely interesting with my boys coming in and out, wanting to play and talk and tell us they were going to make snow cones, and….(shall I go on??? LOL) They were having so much fun…

I haven’t done a maternity in a while so it was a lot of fun for me. Makes me really miss being pregnant too. 😉 You look absolutely fabulous and Justin, of course, was a riot as always in front of the camera. 😛

Here’s a sneak peek of the session. Hope you love them!

Last year, I started the tradition of posting my top favorite client images of the year. I think it’s fun to reminisce and also, to see how my photography grows with each passing year.

I was able to narrow it down to 10 images last year but this year…it was a LOT tougher. So I narrowed it down to my top 20. I knew this year was SUPER busy but after going thru all of my sessions and weddings, I realized HOW busy it was. And for that…I truly am thankful to have such fantastic clients, friends and to share what I love to do as a profession.

I really had a hard time even narrowing it down to 20 but I tried to remember each time I was editing each session or wedding when that 1 or 2 images really jumped out at me; and that is how I chose. So even if you aren’t on this list, please know that I cherish each and every one of you, your family and the moments I captured for you to always remember. 🙂

Here are my top 20 images of 2009:
